  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the caramel by melting sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden amber. Quickly pour into a round baking dish and swirl to coat.
  2. In a blender, combine evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, egg yolks, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth and pour over the caramel.
  3. Place the baking dish in a larger pan filled with hot water (halfway up the sides) and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes until set but slightly jiggly.
  4. Cool in the water bath for about 30 minutes before refrigerating for at least 4 hours. To serve, run a knife around the edges and invert onto a plate.
