  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 3/4 cups (345 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 2/3 cup (130 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, plus 1 egg yolk, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. For the brownie cookie dough: Cream room-temperature butter with light brown and granulated sugars, then add egg and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients followed by chocolate chips.
  3. For the chocolate chip cookie dough: Cream cold cubed butter with sugars, then incorporate eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients, mixing gently before folding in chocolate chips.
  4. Form balls using both doughs; combine them into larger balls on the baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 8-9 minutes until edges are set but centers remain slightly gooey.
