  • 1 cup browned butter
  • 1 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 6 oz room temp cream cheese
  • 1/2 stick room temp butter
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden. Let cool slightly.
  2. Sauté apples in the same pan with butter and cinnamon for about 10 minutes until tender. Cool completely.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together browned butter and brown sugar. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in another bowl; gradually mix into wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in cooled apples.
  6. Pour batter into a greased baking pan and bake at 350°F for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar, cinnamon, and maple syrup to make frosting.
  8. Once blondies are cool, frost them generously.
