  • 3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg (at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix sugar, flour, and cinnamon for the crumb topping. Add cold butter and blend until it resembles coarse meal. Chill in the freezer.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt). In another bowl, mix wet ingredients (egg, sour cream, brown sugar, melted butter).
  4. Gently fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fill each mold in the donut pan halfway with batter and sprinkle with crumb topping.
  6. Bake for about 10-11 minutes until donuts spring back when pressed lightly. Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
