  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 3 large ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a 9X5 loaf pan by greasing it and lining the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, mash bananas until smooth.
  4. Whisk melted butter and brown sugar together until combined; then add mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla extract.
  5. Mix in eggs one at a time before gently folding in the dry ingredients until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center. Let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a rack.
