  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp chili crisp
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 6 green onions (thinly sliced; separate white and green bits)
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger (minced)
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp white miso paste
  • 6 cups vegetable broth (or chicken broth)
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 lb frozen vegetable, chicken, or beef dumplings
  • 3 to 4 cups baby bok choy
  • Toppings: fried onion, chili crisp, green onion, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chili crisp, white parts of green onion, ginger, and garlic; sauté until fragrant (about 2 minutes).
  2. Stir in soy sauce, broth, and rice vinegar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 4 minutes.
  3. Dissolve miso paste in a bowl with some hot broth; whisk until smooth and add back to the pot.
  4. Add frozen dumplings and simmer until nearly cooked through (refer to package instructions).
  5. Stir in bok choy and half of the green onion tops; cook until wilted (about 1–2 minutes).
  6. Serve in bowls garnished with fried onions, chili crisp, green onions, or sesame seeds.
