  • 2 1/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter for ganache
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  3. Whisk together cake flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, and pudding mix in a separate bowl. Gradually combine with the wet ingredients while alternating with buttermilk.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. For the ganache, melt butter and chocolate chips over low heat; stir in water and sifted cocoa powder until smooth.
  6. Once cooled, pour ganache over the cake and spread evenly.
