Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint strawberries
  • 1 cup water (for syrup)
  • 1 cup sugar (for syrup)
  • 2 tea bags (family size) or 8 regular tea bags
  • 8 cups water (divided)
  • Ice
  • Optional: sliced lemon and strawberries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberry syrup by washing and quartering the strawberries. Boil them in 1 cup of water for 10-15 minutes until soft. Strain the mixture to remove pulp and stir in sugar while reheating briefly until dissolved. Allow cooling.
  2. Brew the tea by boiling half of the water, pouring it over the tea bags in a heat-proof container. Steep for about 5 minutes, then remove tea bags. Combine brewed tea with remaining cold water in a pitcher.
  3. Mix cooled strawberry syrup into the pitcher of brewed tea until well combined.
  4. Serve over ice in glasses, garnished with sliced strawberries or mint if desired.
