  • 4 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, whisked
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (170°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly grease it.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter and dark chocolate until smooth, then mix in granulated sugar.
  3. Stir in whisked eggs one at a time, followed by sifting in flour, cocoa powder, and salt; mix until just combined.
  4. Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar, spices, and cornstarch until smooth. Pour this mixture over the brownie layer.
