  • Nonstick spray
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon regular flour
  • 3/4 cup full-fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup grated gruyère cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated fontina cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • White pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Basil leaves for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the gnocchi in boiling salted water until they float; drain and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the chopped garlic until fragrant.
  4. Whisk in flour to create a roux, cooking for another minute.
  5. Gradually add milk while whisking constantly until smooth.
  6. Stir in dijon mustard, then add gruyère, fontina, and seasonings until melted and creamy.
  7. Combine cooked gnocchi with cheese sauce in a large bowl until well coated.
  8. Spray a nonstick baking dish with cooking spray, pour in the gnocchi mixture, and top with parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
