  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Barbecue sauce (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and press into the dish.
  3. Spread barbecue sauce on top of the meat mixture and bake for 25 minutes.
  4. Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain.

  6. Fold macaroni into cheese sauce; spread over meatloaf.
