  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp fruit juice or vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 6 slices cooked turkey bacon, crumbled
  • 1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Fold in shredded Swiss cheese and crumbled turkey bacon until evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan and shape into a loaf.
  5. In a small bowl, mix ketchup and brown sugar for the glaze and spread over the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
