  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherry juice
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon pure almond extract (or vanilla)
  • 1 1/4 cups mini chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 10 chopped maraschino cherries (plus more for garnish)
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) Cool Whip
  • 3 tablespoons hot fudge sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, milk, vegetable oil, cherry juice, egg whites, and almond extract. Mix until well blended.
  3. Stir in mini chocolate chips and flour until evenly mixed.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for about 22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  5. Poke holes throughout the cake using a toothpick or skewer. Pour sweetened condensed milk over the top so it seeps in.
  6. Spread Cool Whip over the cooled cake and drizzle with hot fudge sauce. Garnish with chopped cherries.
